Dr. Ammasai Sengodan Ganapathi is a Lecturer in Aircraft Structural Design at Cranfield University with over 15 years of combined experience in academia, research, and industry. His expertise spans aerospace structural design, advanced composite materials, and predictive modelling.

He earned his PhD from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, where he focused on the manufacturing and numerical modelling of thick composite structures for wind turbine blades. His current research interests include structural integrity assessment of aerospace composites, multi-physics process modelling, AI/ML-assisted structural design, digital engineering of materials, and the hygrothermal behaviour of composites. He has led or contributed to several high-impact research projects funded by UKRI, EPSRC, ATI, and Rolls-Royce, and has published widely in leading journals and conferences.

Dr Ganapathi previously held academic roles at the University of Salford and research positions at the Rolls-Royce Composites University Technology Centre, University of Bristol. He is a Chartered Engineer (CEng), a Member of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (MIMMM), and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

He is deeply committed to teaching and mentorship, leading modules in aircraft structural design, finite element analysis, and composite mechanics. He supervises MSc and PhD students, with a focus on bridging academic research and real-world aerospace challenges.
