BIO
Tarafder Elmi Tabassum is a researcher at Cranfield University focusing on computer vision, machine learning and sensor fusion. She is currently working as a part-time research assistant at Cranfield University where she is involved in developing sensor fusion algorithms for e-scoter localisation in urban canyons. She received a master’s degree from The University of Manchester. Her PhD research at Cranfield involves alternative navigation solutions using visual sensors for UAV navigation in degraded environments. Her work includes integrating Kalman filters (KF) and machine learning (ML) algorithms for multi-sensor systems, aiming to enhance robustness to ensure safe navigation under complex urban environments in the absence of global positioning satellite systems (GNSS).
